Vietnam provides free eye surgery to poor Cambodian patients

Doctors from the Ho Chi Minh Eye Hospital have been to three Cambodian provinces to provide free surgical operations for poor blind people.

As many as 1,100 patients in Cambodia's provinces of Pursat, Kompong Chhnang and Battambangang are expected to be provided with the operation, funded by the Ho Chi Minh City Poor Patients Support Association.

The surgical drive began on January 24 and will run until February 4.

Since 2004, the Ho Chi Minh Eye Hospital has brought light to more than 1,800 cataract patients in Cambodia. (VNA)
