New study funded by the National Eye Institute (NEI), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) reveals that, the old laser treatment is far more effective in curing abnormal eye swelling in diabetic patients than that of the corticosteroid, new drug therapy. This study is been published online in July in the journal Ophthalmology.

A prospective, randomized triple-masked study done by the Indian scientists proves that well known moxifloxacin shows better result if is used two hours before cataract surgery than one day before usage. The findings is being published in the August issue of Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery.

The study compared nutrient intake over time among Europeans aged 65 or older. Participants who ate at least one portion of fish each week were 50% less likely to develop macular degeneration as those who ate fish less than once a week.
