Orbis Flying Eye Hospital Arrive at Da Nang

The Flying Eye Hospital, operated by the US-based Orbis International, landed at Da Nang Airport on Saturday, beginning a two-week stopover in the central city.

From October 8-21, the DC-10 aircraft will serve as a hospital at Da Nang airport. On board, local doctors, nurses and technicians will work alongside Orbis’ international medical team in operations, laser treatment and recovery to exchange knowledge and improve their ability to preserve and restore sight.

More than 100 patients will receive free eye surgery from the Orbis medical team and local doctors and technicians.

The Orbis Flying Eye Hospital has traveled to more than 70 countries since 1982. Some 27.5 million blind or visually impaired children and adults have now benefited from the multiplier effect of Orbis programmes.
