Manila organizes free eye treatment camp
In an attempt to erase eye problems like cataract,Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim has decided to organize a free eye camp for all the residents of Manilenos, the Ospital ng Sampaloc (OS) and Ospital ng Tondo. The free eye check program is likely to cover several districts of Manila.
The Mayor was informed by OS Director Dr. Janet Tan the schedules of these activities in every district. The district heads are told to get 200 patients for cataract operations but as many as they can for the free eye checks.OS and the participating doctors will bring their own operating tables and equipment for the cataract operation.OS will provide the volunteer nurses to assist in the operation.
Beginning Sept. 30, districts 4, 5 and 6 will have cataract screening at the San Andres gymnasium. On Oct. 2, districts 1, 2 and 3 will have their cataract screening at the Tondo Sports Complex.
