Is Life After LASIK Perfect?

LASIK surgery is a popular form of eye treatment across the world. At least one million Americans opt for this treatment every year. But does the surgery really promise a really good and improved life? No, claim the patients. The studies show that nearly 5% of the patients experience some major or minor and long term problems. One such patient, Joseph Schnell shares his experience with the world. Let's listen to him–

This 48 year old Philadelphia patient was suffering from night vision problem post lasik surgery. Schnell said when he looks at the streetlight or headlight, he experiences the feeling of standing at a sparkler. Once a confident driver, Schnell now feels disoriented even at the sight of a oncoming headlight. Moreover he can understand that LASIK surgery is unable to treat age related eye problems like presbyopia that needs reading glasses.

He is just one of the patients to suffer such problems. As a reaction to it, the FDA has planned to start a new study to handle such cases. It has also started a separate cell to handle individual complaints of the customers. The agency will use patients reports to find out the possible solution.
