These days, Dr. Joseph Dello Russo has been operating for free on any combat-bound servicemen and women who show up at his door.
According to Dr. Joseph, they had a year to draft him for Vietnam when they were taking doctors in 1967, and they didn't get him, so this is his way of helping out the military.
Dr. Joseph Dello Russo is among a handful of New York City medical personalities who've risen to near-cult status. One of the first surgeons in the Northeast to complete training in the use of Lasik equipment, he's built a vision-correction dynasty, including centers run by two of his three sons.
