Eye Treatment for Children Who Face Posibilities of Blindness in Vietnam
The Vietnam Support Children Fund and ORBIS Vietnam signed a project "gift of light for children" in Hanoi on October 2.
Accordingly, children from 14 provinces and cities who face posibilities of blindness due to eye diseases will be treated.
The US $435,000 worth project will be carried out from October 2006 to December 2009 in localities including Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, An Giang, Kien Giang, etc.
The project is in the framework of the Fund's "Children's Eyes" programme, which help provide charitable surgeries for 15,409 children facing eye diseases in 64 cities and provinces nationwide. The surgeries cost VND 15.4 billion.
