Crystalens - The Smart Lens, Could be Used to Overcome Cataracts
Now people suffering from cataract can see clearly, near, far and everything, all thanks to special type of lens, called Crystalens. According to Dr. Carey T. Rowan, an cataract and laser surgeon, this brand of lens have an ability to be flexible along the muscles of the eye.

This lens is the first and only FDA approved accommodating intraocular lens. Crystalens uses the natural focusing ability of the eye and is the only presbyopia correcting lens of cataract patients that provides a single focal point throughout a continuous range of vision.
Cataracts form when the eye's own lens stiffens and hardens with age. Today by microsurgery the eyes lens are replaced with an artificial, "intraocular lens."
"It's kind of a smart lens," Leah Madden, a certified ophthalmic assistant, said about the new style of implants.
With Crystalens, for the first time, cataract patients will have the opportunity to potentially experience the freedom of seeing well at all distances without glasses.
