Bausch & Lomb Urging Soft Contact-Lens Wearers To Stop Using ReNu

Bausch & Lomb is urging soft contact-lens wearers to stop using its ReNu with MoistureLoc cleaning solution until the source of an infection that could lead to blindness is determined.

Of 109 suspected cases of the rare fungal infection known as Fusarium keratitis under investigation, 26 patients reported using a ReNu product or a generic-brand solution made by the company based in Rochester, N.Y., according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
